Geotab is seeking an Events Manager who will assume a pivotal role in orchestrating Geotab events through a comprehensive strategic approach. This multifaceted position encompasses event management operations, budget planning, and event execution. Notably, this role will spearhead the strategic evolution of our global event ecosystem by driving annual event planning, optimizing scheduling strategies, and conducting in-depth pre, during, and post-event reporting analyses. The Events Manager owns a portfolio of events, developing the strategy and execution for annual events that support the business objectives and goals determined by executive leadership. In this role, you must be an autonomous and results-driven marketing professional with a track record of executing and delivering highly impactful, large-scale events. This role requires a hands-on approach to event management, as well as excellent project management skills.
Lead and manage industry events for key portfolios of Geotab’s business, including pre-planning event execution and post-event reporting.
Manage vendor event budget. Handle invoicing for events and provide accurate timely budget reports.
Lead elements of Geotab’s marquee annual event, Geotab Connect. Work alongside Business Development, Product, Strategic Accounts and other internal teams as required. Support in day-to-day liaison with production vendors.
Drive the end-to-end strategic development of high-profile keynotes, serving as the trusted partner to senior leaders, to translate complex corporate visions into compelling, narrative-driven main stage productions.
Orchestrate cross-functional execution and alignment with PR and Corporate Communications, Product Marketing, and Multimedia design teams. Direct technical rehearsals, and provide real-time guidance to ensure seamless delivery.
Serve as Cvent subject matter expert, driving strategic configuration of event websites and attendee engagement tools to deliver seamless, high-touch user experiences for large-scale, high-profile audiences.
Monitor and understand industry trends, identify opportunities and provide recommended action to appropriate stakeholders, gather, integrate information/research and interpret existing views of the target audience to support the development of future events.
Maintain and build a comprehensive database of industry contacts, vendors, and venues.
Develop event-specific organizational tools such as production timelines, contact lists, on-site deliverables schedule and ensure all internal and external individuals supporting designated events/projects are in alignment.
Manage, oversee and develop relationships with external vendors and align services and production with internal company brand guidelines, budgets and strategic business goals.
Consult with stakeholders in Revenue Generation (Sales), to ensure strategic alignment of goals and provide recommendations on event-related sales activities
Lead event specific content creation, communications, and materials for pre-event, execution, and post-event stages including outbound email, social media campaigns, videos, presentations, collateral, signage, etc.
Actively update the company-wide global events calendar, keeping all details up to date and accurate.
Deliver programs and events to a high level standard of execution and encourage innovation and creativity in event planning and execution.
Support Geotab global strategic initiatives.
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction to ensure retention and growth of business through repeat events and developed relationships.
5-8 years of experience in Event Management.
Cvent Certified preferred.
Salesforce experience preferred.
CMP Designation (Certified Meeting Planner) highly valued.
Degree Specialization in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience in related field may be substituted
High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail is crucial when ensuring proper event execution.
Able to work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, geographically diverse, and rapidly changing environment.
Experience with managing a budget.
Move easily between generating big, creative ideas, and driving ongoing process improvement.
Strong oral and written communication competency, with ability to influence external and internal stakeholders.
Track record of taking ownership and driving results.
Proven analytical and data decision-making capabilities and making business recommendations to drive event performance.
Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
15% - 20% Travel required for events (primarily in the US).

The annual base salary for this position is the expected annual salary for this role, and may be subject to change.
