Position
Title: Paralegal
Department: Legal & Compliance
Reporting To: Executive Management
Employment Status
This is a full-time, permanent position, subject to the successful completion of a probationary period of three (3) months
Primary Responsibilities
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Reviewing, drafting, and maintaining franchise agreements, supplier agreements, leases, and other commercial contracts.
- Assisting with legal research and regulatory compliance.
- Preparing legal correspondence, notices, and documentation.
- Managing litigation files and coordinating with external legal counsel when required.
- Supporting franchise compliance, operational defaults, and dispute resolution.
- Reviewing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable legislation.
- Maintaining legal records, corporate documents, and confidential files.
- Assisting with new franchise transactions, transfers, renewals, and terminations.
- Supporting the Head Office team on legal and compliance matters.
- Performing other duties reasonably assigned by management.\

Conditions of Employment
This offer is conditional upon:

Education
- Diploma in Paralegal Studies from an accredited college or institution.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Law, Legal Studies, Criminology, Political Science, or a related field is considered an asset, particularly if combined with relevant legal experience.
Experience
3–5 years of experience in a legal or corporate environment.
Experience in one or more of the following is preferred:
- Commercial contracts
- Franchise law (preferred)
- Corporate law
- Real estate and leasing
- Employment law
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Ontario and Canadian legal procedures.
- Excellent contract drafting and document review skills.
- Familiarity with franchise agreements, supplier agreements, leases, and commercial contracts.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal document management software.
