Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Operations Lead to oversee and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion.
This is a hands-on leadership position best suited for a seasoned carpenter who has extensive experience in residential and commercial renovations and possesses a strong understanding of structural framing, construction sequencing, and finish carpentry.The successful candidate will lead work on-site while coordinating labourers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest standard of workmanship. This individual should be someone who can confidently step in and complete skilled carpentry work when required while also overseeing daily site operations.This is NOT a desk job. The ideal candidate is expected to work with the crew, solve construction challenges in the field, and lead by example
Reliable transportation is required, as this position involves travelling to multiple job sites within the surrounding area.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive construction experience, and proficiency with power tools.
- Complete any basic carpentry, construction and framing required for each job.
- Procure and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment required for assigned projects.
- Prioritize multiple tasks required to keep project (s) progressing
- Pick up and deliver materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure uninterrupted work flow of projects
- On site management and coordination of labourers and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Work with Project managers to ensure accurate project execution.
- Coordinate project activities with stakeholders and Management to ensure seamless communication and on site problem resolution.
- Monitor project progress through site inspections and regular meetings; adjust plans as necessary to address delays or issues.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all safety regulations on-site.
- Work with Project Managers to facilitate resource allocation, procurement processes, and logistics planning for efficient operations.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members to foster professional growth and improve operational efficiency.
- communicate regularly with Project Management staff and attend in office planning meetings when required.
- Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to schedule changes and location requirements.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years proven experience in hands on construction, framing, carpentry
- Extensive knowledge of construction sequencing
- Working knowledge of power tools and ability to use all
- Hands-on experience and proficiency with framing, carpentry, drywall and general construction methods and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of leading diverse teams in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
