Sparkling Hill Resort is a leading health & wellness resort comprised of 149 guest rooms including three Penthouses, in addition to a 40,000 sq ft. spa, 3 swimming pools, 7 unique themed steam & sauna rooms, experience showers and several restaurants including PeakFine, Barrique & Java and Gerni’s Farmhouse, as well as our seasonal Fireside Lounge & Terrace. Duties will include:
- Perform general clean-up of all facilities.
- Comply with Health and Safety and WHMIS requirements for Personal Protective Equipment.
- Respond to guest requests for maintenance in hotel rooms.
- Collect and dispose of all garbage and recyclables.
- Clean light fixtures and change light bulbs/tubes.
- Perform minor repairs on windows, doors, switches, desks, tables, plugs, equipment, appliances, sinks, toilets, blinds etc.
- Responsible for vandalism clean up and repair, within skill level.
- Maintain heating and air conditioning systems, thermostats, and other related equipment.
- Maintain working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
- Prepare and set up rooms for meetings or various other activities and clean up afterwards.
- Maintain outside grounds (remove snow, ice, and debris, spray and remove weeds, sweep and clean gutters, water and maintain sprinkling systems).
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those as well as any unusual situations to supervisor.
- Prepare, paint and decorate interior and exterior surfaces as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Ability to perform small repairs an asset (e.g. caulking, replacing washers, and replacing light fixtures).
- Electrical and carpentry experience is an asset
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
- Strong customer service orientation and skills.
- Open availability including weekends and holidays.
- Reliable transportation.
