POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Account Executive, Service Manager, or Service Foreman, the Service Plumber is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing plumbing systems and equipment. This role supports preventative maintenance contracts, service operations, emergency service calls, renovation projects, and customer service activities while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. A service truck will be provided to carry out responsibilities within the GTA.
Plumbing is a highly skilled and multifaceted trade that extends beyond the installation and repair of fixtures and plumbing components. The Service Plumber works on potable water distribution systems, sanitary, storm, and waste piping systems, pumps, water treatment equipment, gas piping, process piping, and related plumbing infrastructure. Work may be performed within residential, commercial, institutional, industrial, and high-rise facilities, including hospitals, schools, manufacturing plants, and other specialized environments. The Service Plumber plays a critical role in protecting public health and safety through the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of essential plumbing systems.
The Service Plumber is compensated in accordance with applicable UA Local 46 rates and collective agreement provisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance services in accordance with contract requirements and company standards.
- Diagnose plumbing system failures and identify effective repair solutions using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair potable water distribution systems, sanitary drainage systems, storm water systems, and waste piping systems.
- Service plumbing fixtures, faucets, valves, water heaters, pumps, water treatment systems, backflow prevention devices, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair gas piping, process piping, and hydronic systems where applicable.
- Conduct inspections and testing to ensure plumbing systems comply with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Complete assigned service work efficiently and professionally.
- Maintain professional communication and face-to-face interactions with clients and site personnel.
- Respond to emergency service calls and customer requests in a timely manner.
- Complete required paperwork, service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow all company health and safety policies and safe work procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
- Support team operations and collaborate effectively with Foremen, Journeypersons, and Apprentices.
- Mentor and support Apprentices as required.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
- Must be a licensed Journeyperson Plumber in good standing with UA Local 46.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to plumbing systems and equipment.
- Experience working on preventative maintenance contracts.
- Comprehensive knowledge of potable water, sanitary, storm, and waste piping systems.
- Experience servicing plumbing systems within commercial, institutional, industrial, residential, and high-rise environments.
- Knowledge of pumps, water treatment systems, gas piping, process piping, and backflow prevention devices.
- Understanding of hydronic systems, cross-connection control, and other specialized plumbing systems is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, plumbing schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow direction effectively.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations, plumbing codes, and compliance requirements.
- Valid G Driver's Licence with a satisfactory driving record.
TRAVEL:
- 100 % travel will be required for this position with the GTA.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- On site conditions: Walking or on your feet for long periods of time, high levels of noise, weather and temperature can vary depending on season, mainly outdoors.

Pay: $59.56 per hour
