Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport goods across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and efficient delivery of cargo. The Truck Driver will play a vital role in ensuring our logistics operations run smoothly and effectively.
Duties
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods to designated locations within scheduled timeframes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle maintenance reports, and other required documentation
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during routes
- Assist in routine vehicle maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience driving heavy trucks or similar commercial vehicles
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when loading or unloading cargo
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for safe driving
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to schedules
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual handling tasks
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
