Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Worker Supervisor to oversee daily farm operations and lead a team of farm workers. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of agricultural equipment, and the ability to manage various farming activities efficiently. The Farm Worker Supervisor will ensure that planting, maintenance, harvesting, and equipment operations are carried out safely and effectively to meet production goals. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily farm activities, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery, power tools, hand tools, and irrigation systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Oversee the proper use of heavy equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed during operation.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of farm machinery and equipment to prevent downtime.
- Train and guide farm workers on best practices for horticulture, equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance tasks.
- Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and materials needed for daily operations.
- Enforce safety standards across the farm site to minimize accidents and promote a safe working environment.
- Perform basic math calculations related to planting schedules, measurements, and resource allocation.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks as required for planting supplies, equipment parts, or harvested crops.
- Collaborate with management to develop work schedules and improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in farming or agricultural operations with knowledge of horticulture practices.
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery, irrigation systems, power tools, and hand tools.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong maintenance skills for troubleshooting and repairing farm machinery.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or walking across large farm areas.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and record keeping.
- Leadership qualities with experience supervising or training a team of workers.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Prior experience with irrigation systems is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided as needed.
