Position Details
Nason Contracting Group Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced General Foreperson to provide leadership, coordination, and oversight across multidisciplinary field crews on our DOW Path to Net Zero project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off

Hours: 10 hours worked Monday – Thursday, 8 hours Friday

What You Will Be Working On
The General Foreperson is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of multiple trade crews, ensuring safe work practices, efficient execution, and alignment with project plans and schedules. This role acts as the key link between field crews and site leadership, providing direction, problem‑solving support, and daily operational planning.

Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for multiple trades and subcontractor crews.

Plan, organize, and coordinate daily and weekly work activities in alignment with project schedules.

Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, and other site leadership to ensure efficient field execution.

Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and work packages to plan work sequences and resource allocation.

Maintain productivity targets and support crews in resolving jobsite challenges.

Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.

Conduct daily toolbox meetings, FLRAs, hazard assessments, and formal safety interactions.

Promote and enforce EH&S procedures, company policies, and OH&S legislation on site.

Monitor quality of work, identify deficiencies, and support timely corrective actions.

Support mentoring, training, and professional growth of field personnel.

Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, materials coordination, and equipment requirements.

Communicate effectively across all levels of the site team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
What We Are Looking For
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

Journeyperson Ironworker Certificate.

Significant experience supervising crews in industrial or large‑scale construction environments.

Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate complex field activities.

Strong commitment to safety and proven ability to model safe work practices.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in reading drawings, interpreting specifications, and understanding project plans.

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make timely, effective decisions in the field.

Ability to foster a collaborative team environment and maintain high morale on site.
