Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Operations Assistant to support the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of our winery property. This is an excellent opportunity for a local student or individual looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic outdoor environment. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of operational and grounds maintenance tasks that help ensure the winery remains safe, clean, and welcoming for guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform weed eating and trimming around vineyard and property areas.
- Assist with weeding and general grounds maintenance.
- Complete basic trellis repairs and vineyard upkeep as required.
- Operate pressure washing equipment to clean buildings, patios, walkways, and other facilities maintenance.
- Support general property maintenance and appearance standards.
- Assist with seasonal projects and special tasks as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report maintenance concerns or repair needs to management.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, bending, standing, and performing manual labour.
- Previous experience with landscaping, grounds maintenance, farming, or property upkeep is considered an asset but is not required.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools after training.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and professional property appearance.
- Primarily outdoor work environment.
- Flexible part-time hours based on operational needs and seasonal demands.
- Physical labour including lifting, carrying, walking, bending, and standing for extended periods.
