Human Resources
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources policies and programs (including days off policies and sick day requirements)
- Advise managers and employees on the interpretation and application of human resources policies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with provincial occupational health and safety legislation and standards.
- Prepare and maintain confidential employee files and HR records.
- Track employee probationary periods, evaluate performance, write reviews, and training requirements.
- Initiate HR professional development opportunities to ensure he/she remains current in his/her position
- Coordinate HR department activities to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Mediate employee relations issues, labour disputes, grievances and give a copy of reports to management.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with external organizations, including government agencies and safety organizations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents, and training, and oversee all internal health and safety documentation and procedures.
Hiring & Training
- Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job advertisements.
- Review applications and coordinate/lead interviews.
- Final interview recommendations are given to management for them to make final decisions alongside HR personnel.
- Conduct reference checks.
- Prepare employment documentation.
- Coordinate employee orientation and onboarding.
- Maintain employee training records.
- Develop and administer the performance review process.
Employee & Environment Support
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding company policies and procedures.
- Assist with employee relations matters.
- Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
- Help organize company events and activities.
- Promote a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for employees and visitors.
- Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
- Research health and safety practices and recommend improvements.
- Monitor and stay up to date on safety regulations, codes, standards, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement.
- Support emergency preparedness and response efforts, including developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans and procedures.
- Deliver regular, engaging safety training sessions to promote awareness and reinforce safe work practices.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety strategies, plans, and procedures, and implement improvements as needed.

Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Office Administration, or a related field.
- Two or more years of administrative experience, preferably in Human Resources.
- Experience in an industrial or skilled trades environment is considered an asset.
- CPHR designation, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to travel occasionally between company locations.
- Criminal Record Check may be required.
- Health and safety certifications (e.g., CSO, HSA, or NCSO) are highly preferred.
Pay: $16.45-$25.00 per hour
