Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance to meet their needs
- Conduct product demonstrations and explain features to help customers make informed decisions
- Assist with merchandising and stock replenishment to ensure attractive and organized displays
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Upsell additional products or services to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers over the phone or via other channels
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with inventory counts
- Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries promptly and professionally
- Assist in training new team members and supervising junior staff when needed
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales or customer service environments, preferably in grocery stores or similar retail settings
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, cashiering procedures, and basic retail math for accurate transactions
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive attitude
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and inventory management techniques
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective customer interactions
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team
- Knowledge of grocery store operations and familiarity with retail standards such as product demos and stock rotation
