The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $103,000 which will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
We are seeking a Direct Material Procurement Specialist to join our supply chain team in Welland, ON. In this role, you will support category strategy development and execute key supply chain initiatives. You will proactively assess supplier capabilities, analyze spend data, and drive cost reduction and supplier performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Continuous Improvement

Support development and execution of category strategies and key supply chain initiatives

Drive continuous improvement across sourcing processes, tools, and workflows.
Supplier Management
-
Proactively assess supplier capabilities, capacity, and potential supply risks.

Monitor and improve supplier performance, including On-Time Delivery (OTD)

Request and analyze supplier quotations using Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) logic.

Support complex supplier negotiations and preparation activities for the Global Category Leader (GCL).

Conduct shortage root cause analysis with the planning team prior to escalation to GCL.
Cost & Data Analysis

Analyze spend data to identify cost reduction opportunities.

Support execution and tracking of cost savings projects

Monitor market trends that impact material costs (raw materials, exchange rates, etc.)
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner closely with engineering, production, planning, finance, and other internal teams to understand requirements and align procurement activities.

Support additional responsibilities assigned by the Senior Sourcing Manager or GCL team.
Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.

Strong technical aptitude and business acumen, with proven influencing, negotiation, and facilitation skills developed through at least 3 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field. Proven track record in project management, risk management, and strategic sourcing.

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive results.

Strong knowledge/skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Experience with ERP systems (Oracle preferred) and procurement processes.
