Fire Alarm Technician Assistant – Job Description
As a Fire Alarm Technician Assistant, you will work alongside experienced Fire Alarm Technician to assist with the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of fire alarm systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is mechanically/electrically inclined, eager to learn, and interested in building a career in the fire protection industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist technician with scheduled inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems.
- Help diagnose and troubleshoot fire alarm system deficiencies under the direction of a qualified technician.
- Assist with the repair and replacement of fire alarm devices and system components.
- Learn to verify the proper operation of fire alarm systems and equipment.
- Complete required documentation, including service reports and inspection records, accurately and on time.
- Follow all applicable fire codes, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a clean and organized condition.
- Communicate professionally with customers while on job sites.
- Assist with material handling, equipment setup, and job site preparation.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to build technical knowledge and skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the service team.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and eager to learn. Mechanical aptitude, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are considered assets. Preference will be given to local applicants.
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
