Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Industrial Material Handling Mechanic to join our team. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with heavy machinery, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment. This position offers an opportunity to work with diverse equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery, contributing to the smooth operation of our industrial facilities.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
- Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals
- Conduct welding and assembly tasks as needed for equipment repairs or modifications
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently during maintenance procedures
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on industrial equipment
- Use diagnostic tools to identify issues with HVAC systems or other specialized machinery
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities
- Assist in the installation of new equipment and components
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing operational concerns promptly
Skills
- Proven experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery
- Strong mechanical knowledge including automotive repair, electrical systems, schematics reading, and HVAC systems
- Hands-on experience with welding, assembly, and maintenance of industrial equipment
- Familiarity with dealership experience or working on Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Experience with farm machinery and automotive repair is advantageous
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in troubleshooting complex mechanical issues
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients or internal teams regarding equipment needs
This position requires a dedicated professional capable of handling diverse mechanical tasks while ensuring safety and efficiency across all operations.
Pay: $20.00-$50.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Turin, AB
