The General Manager (GM) serves as the senior operational leader of the Club and is responsible for overseeing all aspects of grassroots and recreational youth soccer programming.
The GM ensures the club delivers a safe, inclusive, high-quality soccer experience for 2200+ players aged U3–U18 participating in non-competitive community programming.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the GM provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, financial management, and community engagement to support sustainable growth and positive member experiences.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic & Organizational Leadership
· Implement the Club’s strategic plan as directed by the Board.
· Develop annual operational plans aligned with grassroots and recreational priorities.
· Provide regular reports to the Board on registration trends, financial status, risk management, and program quality.
· Recommend policy updates to ensure best practices and compliance.
2. Program Oversight (Grassroots & Recreational)
· Oversee seasonal programming (Outdoor, Festivals).
· Ensure age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) principles.
· Supervise the Administrative Staff & Head Referee, as applicable.
· Ensure appropriate coach-to-player ratios.
· Monitor program quality and member satisfaction.
· Oversee scheduling of fields, gymnasiums, and training spaces.
· Ensure equipment distribution and inventory management.
3. Financial Management
· Develop and manage the annual operating budget.
· Monitor registration revenue and expense controls.
· Provide monthly financial updates to the Treasurer and Board.
· Oversee payment processing, payroll, vendor contracts, and insurance.
· Ensure responsible stewardship of club funds.
· Support grant applications and community funding initiatives.
4. Staffing & Volunteer Management
· Participate in hiring process, supervise, and evaluate administrative and technical staff.
· Oversee recruitment and onboarding of volunteer coaches.
· Ensure completion of background checks, Safe Sport training, and required certifications.
· Foster a positive club culture centered on inclusion and development.
· Lead staff meetings and seasonal planning sessions.
5. Member Services & Community Engagement
· Serve as a primary point of contact for parents and members.
· Deliver programming at the field, as required.
· Resolve conflicts and escalated concerns professionally.
· Oversee club communications via email, website, social media.
· Represent the club at district and governing body meetings.
6. Governance & Compliance
· Ensure compliance with governing body requirements.
· Maintain club insurance, risk management protocols, and emergency action plans.
· Ensure adherence to Safe Sport, accessibility, and child protection policies.
· Maintain proper records and documentation.
7. Risk Management & Safety
· Oversee incident reporting procedures.
· Ensure concussion protocols and injury policies are implemented.
· Ensure safe field and facility standards.
· Maintain crisis communication procedures.
Qualifications Required
· Minimum 5 years experience in sports administration or youth programming.
· Experience managing budgets and staff.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Knowledge of grassroots soccer development principles.
· Experience working with volunteer-driven organizations.
· Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
Qualifications Preferred
· Post-secondary education in Sport Management, Business, or equivalent, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
· Canada Soccer or equivalent coaching certification.
· Experience with registration platforms (e.g., SportsEngine, PowerUp, TeamSnap).
· Bilingual, English and French.
