Job Overview
We are seeking an eager and reliable Fence Installer/Labourer to join our Fencing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of fences, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every project. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Experience in carpentry is an asset and the use of hand and power tools is essential to successfully complete projects within specified timelines.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to determine fence layout and specifications an asset
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, setting up work areas, and ensuring safety protocols are followed
- Measure and mark locations for fence posts, panels, gates, and other components according to project plans
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery necessary for fence installation
- Dig post holes using augers or manual tools; set posts securely in concrete or other foundations
- Install fencing materials including wood, vinyl, chain link, or ornamental fences with precision and attention to detail
- Adjust and align fence panels for uniformity and aesthetic appeal
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment used during installation projects
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, farming or fencing installation beneficial; familiarity with blueprint reading is a plus
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery safely and effectively
- Knowledge of carpentry or related skills is advantageous
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including digging, lifting heavy materials, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in measuring and aligning components
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while adhering to safety protocols
- Valid driver’s license preferred; ability to operate heavy equipment is a plus
