General Manager – Extended Stay Hotel

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and results-oriented General Manager to lead the opening and long-term operation of a new extended stay hotel in Lethbridge, Alberta.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished hospitality professional to oversee all aspects of hotel operations while establishing a culture of excellence, accountability, and guest satisfaction from the ground up. The successful candidate will possess a proven record of operational success, strong financial acumen, and an in-depth understanding of the unique demands of the extended stay hotel segment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years' experience as a Hotel General Manager.
- Previous extended stay hotel management experience is required. Candidates with substantial extended stay leadership experience will receive priority consideration.
- Demonstrated success leading full-service or select-service hotel operations with measurable results in guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and profitability.
- Thorough understanding of all hotel operating departments including:
- Front Office
- Housekeeping
- Maintenance
- Sales & Marketing
- Revenue Management
- Comprehensive knowledge of hotel accounting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, financial controls, capital planning, and P&L management.
- Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess an intimate understanding of:
- The Lethbridge hospitality market.
- Local corporate, government, education, healthcare, sports, and tourism demand generators.
- The competitive hotel landscape and market segmentation.
- The unique characteristics of the Southern Alberta market.
- The SMURF market segments (Social, Military, University, Religious, and Fraternal), including strategies to develop and grow these important business segments.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Partner, the General Manager will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership for all hotel operations.
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences while achieving brand quality standards.
- Recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing management and operations team.
- Driving RevPAR, ADR, occupancy, and profitability through sound revenue management and sales strategies.
- Preparing and managing annual operating budgets and capital plans.
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong cost controls.
- Maintaining compliance with all brand standards, health and safety regulations, and legislative requirements.
- Developing strong relationships within the Lethbridge business community and tourism industry.
- Working collaboratively with ownership to position the hotel as the market leader in the extended stay segment.

Compensation
A competitive compensation package, including salary, performance incentives, and benefits, will be offered commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Only candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with extensive extended stay experience and demonstrated success operating within the Lethbridge market.
Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
