Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated PSWs/Caregivers to provide exceptional care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, hospice, and home care environments in SW Calgary. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients through personalized care, assistance with daily activities, and emotional support. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare team members
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to ensure client safety and well-being
Skills
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia care is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Basic knowledge of medication administration and healthcare procedures
- Ability to handle cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining hygiene standards
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and work environments
