Rainy River
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River mine is an open pit and underground, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. Position: Truck and Coach Technician
Shift: 7/7 – 12 hour days and nights
Position Reports To: LV Supervisor
The role of the Light Duty/Truck and Coach Mechanic is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all maintenance and repair activities. Ensure all activities are carried out in conformance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental.
- Responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of all Light Duty vehicles
- Service all trucks 1 ton and up
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions and carryout necessary repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance such as inspections, lubricating, oil changes and failure analysis
- Comply with all Safety, Health, Environmental and other policies, procedures and requirements
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance
- Ensure work order discipline requirements within SAP
- Automotive, and/or Truck and Coach, Journeyman ticket
- Valid Driver’s license
- Attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a demanding environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to work day and night shifts
- Ford OE diagnostics, experience would be an asset
- Truck experience would be an asset
- Dual ticket LV and Truck and Coach preferred
The anticipated salary for this position will be between $118,000 to $128,000.
