Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable General Accountant to assist with the management of day-to-day financial transactions and ensure accurate financial records for our architectural practice. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, analytical, and experienced with industry-relevant accounting and project management software. Experience in a professional services or architecture environment is considered an asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate general ledgers
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including consultant and vendor payments
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Process payroll and maintain payroll records
- Prepare and submit HST and other regulatory filings
- Assist with year-end closing procedures
- Generate financial reports (profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports)
- Maintain and manage project billing, time tracking, and invoicing through BQE Core
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficiency in BillQuick and QuickBooks is preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
Education & Experience
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience is ideal
- Experience in architecture, construction, or professional services firms is an asset
- Relevant bookkeeping certification is considered an advantage

Pay: $50,044.64-$70,000.00 per year
